Im stumped! 95 XP800 hard to crank and won't turn by hand

So last year I hit a rock and broke my intake grate and obvioulsy went through my pump :S. So I rebuilt everything fired it up and went for a ride and it quit on my, no bogging no warning just locked up and quit. pulled all the jet pump out and still wouldnt turn over. Pull the plugs out and it'll spin but it has a hard time and kills the battery quick. I pulled the starter and has it checked and its good. Even with the plugs and starter out I can barely turn the engine by hand. Does anyone have any ideas before I go and buy a new engine? I have a second ski so I can still ride but its nice to have two so the gf can have hers back lol! Thanks guys!

Sounds like you have a crank bearing issue.

Take the driveshaft out completely... but it may be time for a rebuild.

First, congratulations on having one of the coolest skis ever built.

The limited edition 95 xp800 was the best of the x4's, although a bit dangerous what with the pump sticking out so far and all. I hope your girlfriends knows what she is doing, it is no really a rookies ski.

To your problem, you say you had pump issue last year? I would take a hard look at that pump again as they can grab up and cause just the issue you are describing. If it is the crank, good luck on the rebuild.

when was the last time the oil injection was serviced? if its not the jet pump locked up then like doc said, its something on the the inside of the engine. the oil injection could have failed and did some inturnal damage.
