I have a '98 speedster that has been put through its fair share of rough rides. When I hit waves you can hear crunching sounds from loose foam blocking in the hull. I've looked in the storage door in the floor and I can see broken chuncks of "gray glue". Has anyone had to repair the foam blocking in the floor and what did you use? I was wondering if I could use spray foam to help bond the foam back to the fiberglass of the hull??

Every one in a while when hitting hard waves i can hear it moving around on the port side of the boat. I just assumed it is normal. I havent seen anything in the floor or down in the ski locker. When I cut the holes for the speakers though, the blocks in the sides arent glued down they are just loose in there.

I found the same thing -- but over time I've noticed more and more noise from it. That's why I started looking closer and found the blocks under the floor were originally glued to the floor and bottom of the hull. Now they are not connected on both sides. I'm getting some hairline cracks in the gel coat and wondering if this is why???

You can re-glue the blocks by using a good marine glue like GE 4200 or 5200 or Attwood 7200. They shouldn't be moving around but it's probably not anything that can cause any real harm. I would re-glue them just to be sure.

The glues mention above are totally water proof and very sticky. GE 5200 and Attwood 7200 are permanent and cannot be removed. GE 4200 is strong but can be removed if necessary.
