How to check engine seized 2005 GTX

HI all,

Viewing a Sea doo 4-tec 2005 155 GTX tomorrow, seller has said the ECU failed and has lost the key in a house move. The ski has sat for a number of years there is corrosion inside the hull.

What's the best advise on how to check if the engine is seized up? If I cannot turn the engine over from the solenoid screwdriver trick can I turn the driveshaft? If so, how? take all the spark plugs out?

Also any further advice on what to look at appreciated.

Thanks

Yes make sure he pays you to haul it away.

Thanks, where and how can I turn the driveshaft? Do the plugs need to come out for that?

When you say pay me to take it away, I get it, it's massive huge risk - I'm based in the UK and it's a good price for a ski I guess (£700).

Can you expand any further and anything else to perform checks on thanks

Well there is a used ECM with keys for that ski on EBAY right now for $829 and the mpem is there also for $549. That year had both. Electrical nightmare. Just get it cheap and have fun.

Thanks thing is in the UK skis are a lot more expensive.

How would I check the driveshaft to turn the engine over is it easily reachable? Do the sparks need to come out?

Put a pair of vice grips on the prop shaft, pull the sparkers, spray some penetrating lubricant into the cylinders and see if you can move the the vice grips
