How far up on the trailer?

Here lately i've been approaching the trailer with the ski and then shutting it off and riding it up the trailer. Works great till I slip back down a bit and end up winching it up on teh trailer. My question is the bump stop on the trailer seems to be right underneath the front sea-doo bumper. Should I be aiming to get it a little higher on the bump stop?

I'm curious on this too. I just got a new ski and trailer and the nose of the ski is not sitting against the rubber "roller" that is in front of the hand winch. I'm thinking it should be adjusted to sit on it correct? I would think the nose should be on the roller and the winch under it to the nose hook?

We just had a really good thread about this a couple weeks ago. It was regarding loading boats, but I think the trial and error method and starting with the fenders out of the water still applies here.

Thanks, it was an interesting discussion, but not necessarily what I was looking for. I know how to launch and load, but am interrested in the actuall set-up of the trailer. The moveable front roller that is compressed with bolts to the winch upright is possibly not positioned correctly. I'm asking where, on a properly set-up trailer, does the front nose roller sit against the ski?

... reason I ask is because a sticker on the front of the trailer states to route the strap under the roller. If I was to do this, there isn't really any room above the hook in the front of my ski for the roller? Is any of this making sense?

OH!!! Got you. My bad...:reddevil:

Yes, the strap goes under the roller, and it acts like a tie-down when the ski is on the trailer, pulling the nose down.

I am currently rebuilding my XP trailer, or I would go snap a shot of where the roller is.

It IS a tight squeeze between the front hook on the ski and the roller. And use the hook with the looped strap on it. Even then, the hook will pretty much end up in the winch before everything gets tight.

Sorry I cannot be more help at this point.

same question I think, is this right?

See Pics attached.

If the rear of the seadoo comes loose, it will jump over the front stop. The strap and hook go under it so it will pull the nose downward.

Hey, I have the same question. So the SeaDoo should be forward as much as possible, the strap should go UNDER the little roller but in front of the big v-roller and act as a tie-down, right???

And the big v-roller should be UNDER the tie-hook on the SeaDoo so that the hook on the machine is above it with the actual trailer took pulling "downward" on the front of the machine, is that correct?

Sorry, this is my first PWC and I have a lot of questions about it. I don't mean to hi-jack his thread but its the same question and no sense in posting a new topic. :)

the strap/hook, should go in between, the little roller, and the big roller/ V bumper. Like Karl said, once you crank, it'll start pulling down on nose. Think, the way you guys got it/picture, ski's gonna bounce alot, and chip the gel-coat...:ack:

2nd try

Ok, I tried again, but from the last post I think I may still have it wrong, please look and I will keep trying until I get it right. Im underneath this time, but should I have gone over the 1st black roller and under the other?

it looks like in the 2nd picture that you have a loop strap hanging down from your hook that you should loop thru the hook on the ski and connect to the hook on the winch so the metal hook don't scratch your ski - on my ski the hook is covered with fiberglass so it makes much more of a difference.
