i have a 95 gtx thats a gas hog so i was wondering, are there some things u can do to help the fuel consumption? all opinions wanted

Like Lou said go slower or make sure you high speed needles are set properly. I would consider that ski decent on gas. There are far worse out there. Get a 96 xp if you want to see a gas hog. Healthy 787 + a 9 gal tank = gone! I went 40 miles in mine on Saturday and was on vapor when I got back to the ramp.

get a civic...

951 is 15 GPH at WOT.

My Islandia is 28 Gal/hr.

All you can do is buy something with a smaller engine... or just sit on the beach. Lets face it... it's an 80 hp toy, that sees full throttle a lot of the time. And the key word is "TOY"... so you don't have to ride if you think it burns too much fuel. Compared to new skis... you only burn half as much fuel as they do... so don't complain.

We've got a 96' XP and yes it is a pig on fuel but it really only ever sees a few trips per weekend and a little horsing around thrown in, we go through a tank a weekend and keep it at that so that it's affordable.

just a quick recap...

the 95 gtx is a 657 isn't it ?

to the OP.... this isn't a gas hog, this is a fairly efficient ski.... it only gets worse, your actually in pretty good shape there.

store less crap on the ski, lose weight, ride slower, buy a spare gas tank to keep at the ramp,
or
sell the ski and get a smaller, lighter hull like a sp or spi, or a gts... and you'll see about a 20% improvement

downside to sp and spi, 9 gallon tank, you'll use less per hour, but you'll have 3 gallons less to work with. the GTS will still get you a 12 gallon tank
