So I got my impellers from SBT and the shaft tool, stopped at harbor freight and picked up a nice vise, got home bolted the vise to my bench, put the pump in the vise, were ready to rock here no?
I grabbed my big ass ratchet and tried to turn it, no go. So then I grab my 2" x 2' pry tube and im gunna twist this thing off here and the nails in the top of my bench start slowly coming out, I noticed it but just ignored it cause im twisting this fker off there, Ya no i'm not, it wont turn.
So then I grab the torch and the 3" x 4' pry tube and a neighbor thats so gracious to hold the pump while I twist this thing off. I heat it, Its hot as sht, I crank it, It moved! Like 1/16 of an inch! It made a horrible loud creak! So I put the torch to it and hit it again and thats when my whole bench came apart and collapsed! lol It was a double decker too!
Time to reevaluate. Ask neighbor to let me use his vise, He agrees. Back to it, flame it and twist. It took two grown men with a pry bar over pry bar over the ratchet 20 minutes to get that thing off. Im going to take a wild guess and say this impeller has never been removed and the threads had literally started to mend. Bearings looked good surprisingly.
You guys think its time for a new shaft?
