Holy expensive storage door!!!

it is plastic, drill holes in it. Drill out the rivets in the hinge. Bolt it back together with screws. Very cheap and easy and you can hardly tell. That is how mine is fixed.

After looking at it this is probably what I will do. The hinge is shot. Did you use a different hinge or buy the replacement and drill out the rivets and use screws?

One of the hinges broke on my storage cover (98 Sportster 1800), and it was cracking across the middle... I got sticker shock too looking at the price. I found one on e-bay for $200.

Mine was like that when I got it, so i am not sure how it was fixed, ijust know it has bolts in it. I can try to take a pic if that helps you. I know I have seen the hinges on ebay. I think also read on here that you could use a different hinge. Try doing a search.

The wire cable that hold the door from going all the way back is broke too, but the previous owner engineered it heavy duty string and wire ties. I think I may try to replace it with wire since the string is wearing out.
