Hit huge wave and suddenly no start

Ok so yesterday i was out on lake huron with 8 foot waves. I had been riding around for a while jumping huge waves and then i hit an enourmous wave and went so high that i flipped the ski ontop of me in the air and landed in the water with the ski on me. So i come up and the ski is obviously tipped over so not thinking i BELIEVE that i rolled it backover counterclockwise i cant remember but anyways i hopped back on and took off she ran great till i had to go save some little kids with NO lifejackets on that were out maybe a half mile with a little tube. so i get to them and shut off the ski. There were three of them so i jumped off the ski and gave them my life jacket and one by one put them on the ski while i swam. The one kid knew basics of how to drive to i told him to fire it up and head for shore. He hooked up the lanyard and alll guages came on then hit start and NOTHING Just clicking at the solenoid. So after a few attempts i decided to just swim in pulling the ski by hand with them on it. Got to shore and took seat off and the battery strap had broke off so the battery had been flopping there for a while. I did have about 4 inches of water in the hull so i drained it out. The solenoid still just clicks and will not arc or turn starter over when i touch posts together. you guys have any ideas

Try taking the plugs out and see if it turns over.

yeah she turns over its not blown i was messing with the cables at one point and hit start and it rolled over for a second but nothing after that

Its been 5 minutes..lol If you arent even able to get the solenoid to do anything touching the post together, then it sounds like it doesnt have power into it. Check the battery cable from the battery to the solenoid. Make sure it didnt break anywhere when the battery came undone.

spark as in at the plugs? i dont know it wont turn over there is no power to the starter but the engine can be turned over by hand

OOOOOOOHHHHHHH man you have no idea i am the only one that runs to the lake when they issue a watercraft advisory the bigger the waves are the better baby. as for the loose wires i tightened all of them up and still nothin im kinda stumped here i guess the next thing is to pull the starter off and check it and its connections

not yet but im assuming its good since i did get the ski to turn over once for a second but lost connection again

Probably the starter/connection somewhere.
Maybe a wire/cable broke after you kicked it over the last time.

If I was your ski and giving all the abuse, i wouldn't start either, just to save my fanny hull.........LOL

Troubleshooting needs to be done from a starting point... Check your battery by using a different one.. (plates and connections in the battery could have broken from the impact). Since it was running until you shut it off, it doesn't sound like an engine problem. More like a starting problem. Cables ok, Solenoid ok (jump it), wires to the starter. Is the starter tight. Could have even broken a winding loose in the starter. Just some ideas.

One more thing... would you check your life insurance policy and make sure it is IN MY NAME!!!! ;-)

I had same problem before, Starter locked up, i actually pulled the starter and put it back in and it worked fine again.

Please post pictures of this crazy jumping.
Doesn't it hurt the hull when landing back in the water. I know the stand up ones usually fall a** end first into the water.
Does it ever land on top of you?

i just went out sat my battery also from hitting a huge wave flew over and acutly pulled the positive out of the battery ... i just fixed it today

I took out a Million dollar policy on him after I saw his first video. Had to hurt having that jetski land on top of him. Was nice of him to save those 3 kids though. I'm gonna miss him.. right up until that check arrives

na i mean on the wire the possitive the metal piece came off .. not on the battery itself .. i bought a new end and crimped it on .. i dont kno wut its called .. the battery got beat up and the ski would not start for like 4 hours i was working on it yesterday ... the ski was running like a animal till the wire came out and my buddy towed me in ... but some how i got her running again ..

You guys figured me for dead huh!!!THANKS!!! lol No im back i just had a bunch of stuff to do and havent got a chance to get on here or even touch the ski yet. I was telling my girlfriend that she needs to bring a camera next time but she freaks out and yells at me that it gonna get wet. As for the ski landing on me..........most definetly it did the last time that i jumped and yeah it hurt a little but oh well its water right and pain is temporary so ill do it again. I wish some of you guys could come to michigan and go out there with me its the experience of a lifetime.. oh and yes the ski almost always lands on the back end so its a pretty smooth landing except for the one time that i landed sideways and hit so hard i snapped off a sponson. That one did hurt a little but i didnt fall off so i counted it successful. But ill let you guys know what i find im gonna tear into it tonight .......... by the way when i pulled it up on the sandy shore i know that sand got in the intake grate and probubly made its way into the engine so anybody have an idea of how to flush it out with out tearing it apart
