My name is Bruce. Me and my girlfriend just picked up our brand new 2012 GTI130 yesterday afternoon and got to take it out for about an hour. Before this, the only skis I've ever rode was friends' older seadoo's and waverunners and compared to everything else I love just about everything about mine over theirs. lol
With me, my girlfriend, and my sister on it, we hit 54MPH according to speedo. That was in choppy conditions against current AND about 6-10 MPH wind. I haven't rode it alone yet, but I don't see why this thing won't do high 50's, low 60's alone. What is the official top speed of the GTI130? I hear everywhere from 55 to high 60's.

Anyways, it's nice to be a SeaDoo owner finally!

I have the same boat but a 2011, I weigh 240 and it will see 57mph in perfect conditions. A light chop is best because it gets the hull out of the water more=less resistance=higher top speed. Also you should read your owners manual, you shouldnT be running it wide open like that till it's broken in.

I love my gti 130, good fuel economy and goes as fast as I need it to go. When my buddies with their super charged boats are looking for fuel I still have a half tank.

I guess I should have read the manual, but the dealer told me to ride it as I want to :/ Guess it's a good thing I only did it once to see what I'd get out of it. The rest of the time we just cruised at 40-45. And yeah, we rode for a solid hour. Fuel bar only moved one notch off full. :)

130s will not do above 54 or so on GPS.

The only thing you have to worry about is to vary the rpms for the first few hours as part of the break in.

Incorrect, want a vid of 55+ on the gps?

Well like I said. My speedo said 54. That was with me (190lbs), my girlfriend (~110lbs) and my sister (~110lbs).
I'd imagine if I took away those two (roughly ~250lbs) and the 6-10mph wind blowing strait onto us, the ski would read high 50's easily. What that would be on a GPS, I donno.

You said they wont go higher then 54 as a general comment, and its not true, They have a built in gps so the speedis are accurate. The old paddle wheel style was inaccurate, thats where you read speeds of 60+

I said "54 or so" as a general comment. 54 or so is still accurate and stands in 99% of situations. I didn't mean to start anything.

I have routinely seen where the new gps style speedos still overstate speeds by 1-2 and sometimes 3 mph - not quite 100%, but definitely better than the old dreamometers

You sob you went in and edited it to say "or so"

Lol. It's no big deal man. If it means anything I believe you based just off of what I saw with mine. I'm confident I'll see high 50's on my speedo when i get to ride alone this weekend. Whether or not it's off or "dreaming" well, whatever. lol

Hi there. My wife and I also just bought the 2012 gti 130. Suits us perfect (fishing & general cruising).

I'm really enjoying all the features, and got a hell of a deal. :-)

We got an awesome deal on ours as well! Dealer came off the MSRP, upgraded our trailer for free, and we got a free 3 year warranty!

Bad. you need 10 hours of break in. so i just used the learning key for the first 10hours and varied the rpms. or else the engine wont last as long

I ran it at WOT one time for maybe 5 seconds. The manual says BRIEF full throttle is ok, just not prolonged.

maybe your right, but im making sure im going to get the fullest life outta my engine.

Dang.....per the instructions...vary the throttle the first 10 hrs. No extended cruising at any one speed.

So what did i do?

Rode it like I stole it. I varied the speed...from 0-70. or so I thought. But, I was seeing 8150 right off the bat. Some still won't see the limiter.

Chuck that learner's key in the next port-o-john you see.

It's your boat....break it in like you want....but....for me?....I wanted mine broke in like I was gonna ride it regular.

...to each his own.
