Hey gang, new here but, not to the marine industry. I own a '94 seadoo xp, which I bought from my work place several years back and was/is my first PWC. Also, picked up a '96 GSX 787 from work, that was in the junk pile. Where I work, we are a Yamaha water sports dealer so, they really don't get into selling old seadoo's that need work. Anywho, just joined to keep up with fell'r seadoo enthusiasts and learn/ share some info.
About my doo's. The '94 is all stock and love the x4 hull. But, it needs upgrades. Mainly with handling and gripping the water. Here on lake simcoe, the water is mostly choppy and this machine keeps unloading. I want to doo the grate and trim upgrades that I have read about but, not sure if I want to upgrade to a newer xp or spx. I guess, I could do the upgrades and if I find a newer machine, just swap the aftermarket stuff over. Other than that, It runs good and is reliable.
Now, the GSX I just got, needs love. The machine came available because, the original owner cant be tracked down and it ended up in the scrap pile. So, it was running, winterized and stored in our yard, according to records. This was also 7 years ago. So, with that said, the bilge is very clean and in nice shape but, the exterior needs love, due to sun damage. The hull looks like it will buff out real nice but, the plastic pieces and seat need to be replaced. Other than that, I need to get the machine inside and start going through the engine. Need to drain and clean the fuel tank, replace fuel lines and go through the oil injection.
Anywho, I think that about covers it lol. Will try to post pics at another time! Right now, going to browse the forum a little bit :coolgleam:
