Can anyone recommend a good starter rebuilder? After researching starters, many believe it’s best to rebuild an OEM unit than take chances with new aftermarket units? I can’t find a rebuild kit for mine and Sea-Doo doesn’t list parts, only complete starters.

In the absence of a rebuilder, what aftermarket units have proven reliable? I’m leaning towards SBT only because I’ve been impressed with other aftermarket parts they make/supply.

Thanks.

Buy a brush kit from eBay and do it your self. Scribe the back case cover to the body so that it goes on the same as it comes off. If not, the starter spins the wrong way. It isn't a hard job.

My opinion is that SBT is slightly better than the cheap eBay ones but nowhere as good as OEM. Many times, all you have to do is take the starter apart and just clean it up and it will work like new for many years, there isn't much to them.
