HI,

I have just purchased a 2014 (new) GTX155. Love it, so much fun. What tips and tricks do people have with this machine? What are the things i should be doing and looking for? What should i be doing for maintenance? Any help would be great.

Thanks

I have the 13 GTX 155 and I love mine as well. I bought it new in May and ride it as often as I can. I'm about to add a Seadoo bilge pump (I assumed they came with one.... They don't) I've also picked up a Lowrance Elite 4HDI chartplotter. Down here in Coastal GA the marshlands and rivers hide sandbars and I've already found out the hard way, they are no fun. Stick with the scheduled maintenance and if you ever run up on a submerged sandbar, shut off the motor immediatly! Wear rings aren't cheap.

This ski requires about as little attention as you can have in regards to maintenance.

Unless you are in salt water or ride in sandy areas, you will never need to flush the engine after a ride.
Are you familiar with the "Closed Loop System" that is used on your ski.

Change the oil once a season or every 50 hrs or so, which ever comes first. Engine oil, if it is over full by even as small as 1/4 inch, it will affect how well the ski runs. The level needs to be between the lines, not above or below it.

You pretty much just need to has gas and make sure engine oil is good. Start it and ride it. The 155 engine is very proven and you will get thousands of hours on it if you do basic maintenance.

If you do salt water, then there is more that needs to be done.

I flush the exhaust with saltaway and spray down the entire exterior with it after every ride. Not sure if I need to do the same with the engine compartment however. I do spray it with an anti corrosive spray every couple of months

Nick, here's your assignment. Read your owner's manual front to back. There will be a test on Friday. Oh! Todays is Friday.
