Gas guage fuel baffle installation

97 Challenger. I just repaired my fuel level sender. Now I'm trying to reinstall it and can only get so far in and it stops dead. About 2 3/4 inch out and it won't go in any further. Does anyone know if there are baffles or other structures in the tank?

The tank should have nothing in there. Mine just went right in after I repaired my fuel sender unit. Maybe the plastic has swollen and its just stuck? Maybe put some 2 stroke oil on it and see if that helps it slip in. Or try and take a picture thru the hole to see if you see anything sitting at the bottom. Maybe someone dropped something in there. Stranger things have happened.
