Front cylinder hotter than rear cylinder

Hi guys, i bought my first ski about 3 weeks ago and had it serviced. took it out twice and ski runs great. I bought it to melbourne personal watercrafts and he looked over the ski and said my front bearing is stuffed. He said that when the motor starts out of the water the front cylinder is hotter than the rear meaning the front bearing is under load. a compression test was done and it was fine on both cylinders. when i have ridden it and open the throttle the ski goes like a dream. I have never had any beeping from the alarms or anything like that.
The first person that seviced it Get wet marine didnt mention anything about the bearing being stuffed. He actually said the ski is running great and said for what i paid $3250 it was a bargain.

I dont know much about ski's but is Melbourne personal watercrafts trying to rip me off or are they correct??
Any help would be most appreciated.

Same Sh**, dif'rent customer, Tom....think its a little steep, for what you paid, but if your stoked, who cares. We've all paid for something more than what its worth. Melbourne, can kick rocks. They just try'n to get your dough, man....go have fun, til winter rolls in.

I agree with Timmy, go ride it and have fun. It's very difficult to diagnose bearings that run hotter than others and if they will ever fail even if they do run a little hotter. Too many factors involved.

I know the AU seadoo prices are much higher than the US and you did get a good deal. (Also, the AU dollar is about 10% higher than US)

Summer is just starting in AU so ride it and have fun without worries!

Just for fun, I would do a plug chop and make sure that neither cylinders are running lean.. If all is well and the oil is present and the A/F mixture is good, just enjoy it.

My opinion is to "ride it like you stole it."
The dealer it trying to rip you off, and to that I say :bs::bs::bs:

yeah i thought he was from fl too and i was like man....thats alot of money, but i think you shouldnt worry about what the one dealer says. dont fix whats not broken.

Sounds like to me, your being scammed. If the beraing is going out, ou can taek a long handle screw driver and with the motor running, you can put the screwdriver point down near the stater of as close as you can get, then the other end to your ear. IF the roller bearings are flat spotted or going out, you'll hear this on your make shift stetshscope.

Mag piston? If you can, take a peak at your top of your mag cylinder. Usually, when a bearing is worn, you might begine to see signs of detonation or piston damage. If not, then it sounds like you might be getting a shame.......:cheers:

take her out for a 1/2 hour ride and then check the engine
put your hands on both cylinders, they should have some heat in them
you should be able to tell at this point if one is hotter than the other
some skis will run hotter on flush/land
seadoo normaly runs cool on flush,
yes check spark plug colour and get a idea how she is burning

Hey Guys, Thanks so much for the replys.. A quick update.. took the ski out last week and hit a 2 meter wave.. flipped it and the earth cable had come off.. Took your advice and rode it like i stole it and the motor gave way. I put in an insurance claim and just got note it has been approved so complete new motor coming my way including carby's.

Man insurance is great but only downfall is waiting the 2 weeks for me to pick the ski up..:hurray:
