Hey guys i have been searching for a mint ski for few months now, i have found one that is new old stock. 1997 GSX 800. Apparently it has only 15 hours put on it in the last two summers.. Its was started for the first time 2 years ago.. Original owner in mint shape..

Would u guys pay extra money for this thing? Or should i keep looking, he is asking about 1000 above what they usually go for. I think its worth it whats you guys think..

And no i wont tell u who is selling it lmao!

I personally feel that sitting with no use is almost worse then using it. Just my opinion though. I def would not pay extra money for it.

Price of an old ski goes by how clean it is. But, if it truly only has 2 years of use, and you put it on the water... and it runs prefect... and the compression is perfect... and the owner can verify that he uses XPS oil........... AND, you take it to a dealer to verify time.... I may pay a few $$$$ more. But lets face it... It's a 14 year old ski, and you won't get anything extra for it, when you go to sell it.

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than a "Clean" 97 is worth. As said above... sitting for that long is almost bad. Seals, and other rubber parts dry out, and will give you problems.

FYI... a dealer can pull the running time from the MPEM. Also, since it's been used for 2 years... it is no longer a New Old Stock ski. It's just a used ski with low hours, and if it wasn't winterized properly.... it could have rusted engine internals.

A G more is entirely too much. Regardless of the hours, the Tempo lines were not made to handle ethanol and will rot quickly. Also I have heard that the Mikuni kits are made to resist the eth better as well....again it was hearsay.

As most know, these are the two most important things to redo along with cleaning the Raves, fuel selector, and changing the pump oil.

To me a mint ski is nice to look at, but I use my machines. I like to beach my machines w/o a stand. I also tie up at the cove so they get lots of nics that way.

Ya i think hes asking wayy to much as well.. Its not worth it as i will still have to have all the fuel system rebuilt etc! I would have to do the same work on it as buying one with a 100 hours.
