Finger throttle?

I have a 93 seadoo spi and would like to have a finger throttle. I'm considering flipping the shitty thumb grip around.... if it can. I'm wondering if anyone has done this or knows a less expensive supplier of the aftermarket ones? Normally I would poke around before hitting the forum but it's buried in snow and I'm feeling lazy.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
 
I bought a set of cheap hot products ones and while they worked, I want happy with their function.... replaced with PJ'S throttle and MUCH better... very smooth function. .. biggest thing to be concerned with is the "throw" and ensuring it opens the throttle butterflies completely....
 
Throw is the distance the finger throttle travels from full closed to full open. Many of the cheap ones don't pull the cable far enough to open the butterflies on the carbs completely, thus you lose performance and top end...
 
Here to help and give first hand advice where I can.... own 3 seadoos and zxi1100 mutant ski for 5+ years... rebuilt all the engines top to bottom myself, with sh@t ton of mods, including case and cylinder porting...
 
You can flip around the stock thumb throttle if thats what you are going for. Not as nice as an aftermarket finger throttle but its better than having a thumb throttle.
 
Thats gona look like complete shit if you do that ......don't rig up your ski like some of the window licking Bucktards will suggest on here .....do it right if your gona do it ,there is a guy on facebook selling block offs that I had made a while back ,they will cover the hole in the OEM bar pad the throw is a problem with cheaper finger throttles but you can sometimes put a different throttle drum(what the cable goes around on the carb)and that should get you WOT

Window licking bucktards? Not everyone has/wants to put money into such an old ski. Flipping around the stock throttle works just fine. I have real finger throttles on my skis but I'll gladly use a flipped around thumb throttle if I have to

Yeah i believe that comment is slightly over the top, funny though! We are only talking about a finger throttle not bodging a crankshaft rebuild.
 
Its a term of endearment I like you use when someone makes a suggest to rig up there ski ,at least the second guy used the original throttle to make a block off and has some creativity ,and why does money always come into play when an older ski is involved ....... If you cant spend $50-$100 bucks to modify your ski in a professional manor then you shouldnt have it ,maybe throw a couple buck aside each week until you can afford to do it the right way,or find a way to make a block off similar to what "Soccerdad" did.....I wasnt trying to hurt feelings ,I forget its a very soft,sensitive world out there
