It looks fantastic! 70 lows and 140 highs? That is plenty of fuel. Sounds like you could have just bolted stock 787 carbs on it. I've heard of people doing that with the Factory pipes but have never tried that one myself.

Well Matt the stock jets are 67.5 on pilot and 137.5 on high so I only went up one size. The needle is a 1.2 and on 787 carbs the needle is 1.5. So I should be able to manage with adjusters. I can't wait to install and just stand back and stare at engine compartment!

It's got a race waterbox( no baffles) and damn it sure sounds like it's gonna rip! Painted the waterbox yellow too. It's gonna hit the water first time in two years! Been running the hell out of the SPX and that's why it's been sitting.

Thinking about selling it. it's got sentimental value to me but two skis and one butt makes it hard to decide which one to ride!

This season it's got a freshly rebuilt starter, new starter solenoid, freshly replaced fuel tank, carburetor clean out and rejet ,new battery, new spark plugs, new west coast flame arrestor, new used APE exhaust and a new westcoast style waterbox.

Ok so here is my update... Finally got to run it yesterday and it ran incredible! I am excited about the newfound power out of the 717! Runs just as hard as the SPX Topend with a little less bottom end. I still have to fine tune the carbs and I think I can get a little more bottom end out of it! Now for the race waterbox HOLYS**T is that thing loud! I ran it for about two hours and I was deaf! But it did sound great for a while. I'm gonna pull it out... Anybody in the market for a race waterbox for a717??? It is brand new with two hours of use and painted yellow with VHT HIGH HEAT PAINT... I will get a pic and try to post a vid of sound. It's a love hate sound. Either you love it or hate it and I could go both!!!!

It's a westcoast style waterbox. Some guy was makin them brand new on eBay. It is an exact duplicate cause I had one (westcoast)but it was shot. It's pretty but loud. My buddy loved it!

I have the TDR water box with no baffles in My polaris slx 1200 and I really like it lol. Makes my 3 cylinders sound monsterous.

This is what my plugs look like after 1.5 hour runtime... I think it's too rich... What do you guys think???

Really? Being a 2 stroke the plugs should be a nice Carmel/cardboard/graham cracker brown. I'd say a little lean if anything

I think with only 1.5 hours of run time it's gonna be very difficult to get a good plug reading, those insulators will stay white for a while until they are good and used.. The only way to really get a good read on plugs that new is to do a plug chop... That will tell you a lot more at this point
