Factory pipe seadoo 720

I don't think the Rossier 717 pipe has a lot to offer over the stock tuned(two piece) one. The welch plugs won't rot out like the oem is guaranteed to. I have only bolted mine on once and remember it being much closer to stock then the Factory pipe.

Well im glad i asked. Thanks

Well there were two Rossier pipes. The one I'm referring to is the Recreational pipe. They did make a more aggressive racing pipe but they never turn up.

I totally understand them selling a pipe back in the day that would only be a slight advantage. Most people won't re-jet or do the after tuning.

Oo i c and either one would be better then the one i have.

Il keep my eyes open.

My neighbor at the lake has a 96 hx with the 720 and a factory pipe. He DID get his rejetted with it but.... hes had it for three seasons and no issues with probably 20-30 hours a summer ridden. And thats only what I see him ride there could be more. But I will say it gave the 720 a whole shithouse more balls off the line. Its alot snappier and quicker with the pipe. Highly reccomended mod.

I don't like the rossier pipe. It's just not sexy enough. It doesn't look good at all. I got the APE Pipe because it was in good shape and within my budget. It does not have water injection system but I just might add it. What do you think Matt?

I think you should try it without ecwi at first. That pipe has a good hit on the bottom end as it is. Pick up an extra 6mm allen wrench to sacrifice. You will need to cut one down on the short end to be able to reach the inside bolts.

Ok so I got the pipe Matt. It looks to be in good shape. Do you think I should get an adjustable rev limiter to give it a little more top end??? Only 500 more rpm.

The rev limiter will not give any rpm, only allow rpm where the stock setting will hit it's limit. I think you should try it first and then watch it very closely to see what it's asking for.

Ok so just bolt and try. I'm gonna open up high speed needles just a turn just to be on safe side with brand new plugs. Also I forgot to mention I got a race type waterbox. It should sound incredible with pipe. I just got to blast pipe clean and paint with high heat engine paint. It should look as good as it will perform. Hey Matt I'm sure you have tried those race water boxes. What do you think?

I don't think those waterboxes ad a lot besides noise. Save your old parts of coarse. You must get a digital tach. They are only $30-$40 (Trail Tech TTO tach/hr meter) and then you can be telling us what difference these aftermarket parts are making.

When a pipe is worth a darn it is gonna push the engine further and require more fuel. I would open your needles but expect to re-jet according to the running characteristics and plug color.

I'll go with "water resistant". I've lost two out of about twelve and both times I soaked it pretty good. I think they were designed for dirtbike handle bars originally.

Ok so I also got a smokin deal on a aftermarket flame arrester to compliment the APE pipe. Here is a pic ...

So Matt braley I know I am gonna have to either rejett or lower pop off to go with APE pipe and aftermarket FA. Any pointers Matt???

Very nice. Those have good velocity stacks in them. I'm hoping the bosses to mount the brace are on the other side though? I say this because unsupported carbs on a modded 720 are known to crack the case.

I would lower the pop off and re-jet. Probably 70 lows with a pop off psi between 30-35. If you don't up the HS jets then I would start with your HS adjusters at 1 full turn out from closed. Then you can record rpm and check plug color to dial it in.

It has two threaded holes on bottom of mount to use factory bracket that attaches to top of cylinder head. Yes the velocity stacks are incredible. I will get a pic of inside tomm. It should look awesome in engine compartment with all this eye candy. But I also want it to run a little harder. I got spoiled by the 787 in the 97 spx;) so do you think I gonna have to Jett the carbs up( make richer) or just try opening needles a bit? I have to get the carbs off and clean them. I haven't started in two years. Riding the spx all last season! Here's a pic of ski... She's worth it!!!!

I know that pic well. I think that's one of the best looking X4's out there. Yes start rich then lean out in small increments until your no longer gaining RPM at WOT. Then open the needles 1/8-1/4 turn from there and confirm that plugs are chocolate brown after a wot run.

Thanks Matt... I know it's still early but SPRING is only 19 days away and spring is when I start gettin all my stuff together and ready for season! We are supposed to get 12 inches of snow starting tomm!! Lol

Sorry about that. I ran about 8 gallons of premix today through my X4 on a twisty little river. My buddy ran his 96XP and it was over 70deg.

Ok so I bead blasted pipe clean an primed a painted with VHT high heat engine enamel. It's finally finished. About 3 days of work. Hey Matt just to be safe I got 70 pilot jets and 140 high jets to use with pipe. Here is a pic. Let me know what you think!
