Ok so I have a 99 GTI,The oil injection system has been bypassed.SO im premixing. When it was time for gas I mixed TW-3 oil in my gas.(wrong oil I know now)It ran for about 5 mins and stalled out,Got towed in(very slowly).Got it home and started it up.Sounded like a piston slapping.Pulled the plugs and they looked DRY.(No oil). I am going to drain and refill gas tank with proper OIL.WhaT else should I do?Should I pour something into the cylinders before starting, and what?Should this noise stop with proper lubrication? Thanks for your help,I hope my lack of knowledge doesnt cost me an engine.

spray some wd-40 in sparkplug holes, ground the plug boots to the lugs, and do compression test.

Ok thanks,Do you think the wrong oil would cause this that quickly? The engine was rebuilt by PO before I got it.

Ill do compression check in the am.Thanks for your help Im sure I'll be back with more ?'s.

Did compression test 90 in front cyl and 120 in rear. What now?Rebuild top end?I saw a new cyl head sells for 475,would that be much more expensive than rebuilding mine?

my 787 was showing 75 psi and 150 psi... i bought the top end rebuild kit for 475

i figure mine is 13 years old so i might as well give it a whole new top end
