Hi Everyone, and thanks for reading this to me... I bought a 97 seadoo speedster twin 85s this summer and all was well. Until I went away for 4 weeks, and went back to start my boat and it didn't turn over... blower was working but not enough energy to start boat...

After, not being a macgruber, I was able to charge the battery. today was the second time the battery was not able to turn over. It's a new battery... anyone know of any issues of this model???

email me at stravale@yahoo.com if so... I put a trickle charger on it again, but don't wish to have this everytime i'm away for 4 weeks?? maybe losing power from somewhere i'd never know..

thanks

1) just because it's new, doesn't mean the battery is any good.
2) when wet batteries go very flat (under 5 volts) sometimes they won't take a charge again.

But... get it started, and bring the engine to 5000 rpms. You should be reading 13.5 to 14.5 volts. If it's high or low... then the regulator is probably bad. If you are in that range... then the battery is bad.

I suggest you bring the battery to like Auto Zone and have it LOAD tested for free. Even if the battery is full charged it might have a bad cell or 2, and not have the amps to start the engine. Be sure the cables at the battery and going to ground are real clean and getting a good connection. Also check the draw on the battery, if the battery checks out good, to see where the battery is loosing power, like the belige pump is running or something too.
