Hello, I have a 97 challenger and just bought a carbon seal replacement kit. The bellow that came with it is a lot softer than the old one. Can I use this one or return it for a firmer one? Thanks.

The old one is probably age hardened.

If your drive shaft seals are original, it's past time to replace them.

Try to align everything so the carbon mates flat to the stainless steel seal.

The one on the left is the old firm one. The 2 o. The right is the new one
Very flexible. Not sure if it would push against the carbon ring enough.

Hello again, I have a strange question, I took out my drive shaft to change the bellows and carbon seal, and I noticed the drive shaft had three grooves on it not one like the parts diagram shows. When I look up other drive shafts the one for the Sportster 180 looks like the one I have. Do you think the shaft was changed at some time?

Now when putting in c-clip which groove should I use?

You will have to put it together and determine which groove puts tension on the bellows and carbon seal.
