DR Honda or someone knowledgable about 1997 speedster steering nozzle vs 1996

The steering nozzle on the right side of my 1997 speedster is broken. i found a jet pump nozzle for sale that is off a 1996 speedster though. will it fit or are they different? Also on the right side the reverse gate doesnt go down and only the left side works when put in forward and reverse. what could be wrong there? Thanks i appreciate all the help and want to get this new toy out on the water!!

Yes... the nozzles, and reverse gates are different from '96 to '97... but, they can be interchanged.

If both of your gates aren't dropping... you won't go backwards... you will spin in circles. All I can say is to check over all the linkages to make sure they are moving. (It's hard to say what's wrong from where I'm sitting)

so what your saying is i can put the 1996 speedster sterring nozzle on my 1997 even though they are differnt? will it effect the sterring or anything since the one on the left side will still be the original 1997 version then? and also will it bolt right on? thank you again i really appreciate your help!

also i noticed the part numbers are different but it looks like they are the exact same. So if the 96 steering nozzle does fit the 97 like your saying will i beable to but my original 97 reverse gate on it or would i have to change that also then.
