Does the color of your ski effect performance

I just bought a 2006 RXP 215 hp with a supercharger. One of the best performance mods is an after market “intercooler”. Why? Because you want the air going into the engine to be as cool as possible. Right? With that in mind, why would they produce a ski that is black? I built a solar heater for my house recently and one of the first rules of solar heating is “Black absorbs heat”. I’d venture to say the inside of a dark colored ski is probably, at least, 10 to 20 degrees hotter than a light colored ski. Maybe even 30?

The temperature your talking about is at or around idle speed and its a good thing. At low engine speeds ,I have read that the air temperature needs to be around 100 degrees for proper mixing of air and fuel.

At high rpm , your engine is acting like a large blower motor causing new air to enter through the vents while rejecting the hot air your talking about through the exhaust. So once you nail the throttle for all practical purposes the outside air = the inside air of your ski.

Also on the subject of blow by , at high rpms the % of hot air from the blow by drops to a very low value relative to the total air from blow by+air intake and also is not a factor . I am just talking about the effect of the gas and not the oily mist cause that's a different subject all together.

Idk about the hull color, but i don't get those guys who black out their skis, even go with black seat vinyl. My yellow seats get hella hot, can't imagine dark colors...

So.... If ya have a white car and a black car... of course the black car is hotter. But once you roll the windows down and get moving down the highway the color doesn't matter.

FYI black canvas last longer then white less uv penetration with black
