Can you beleive that parts for a 98 are discontinued!??? My reverse cable for my 98 sporster 1800 broke and I can't find one anywhere. I even tried to tig weld it to no avail. Here is my question to all the part gurus out there. How similar is the cable for a 98 challenger 1800? On the parts diagrams they look identical. Even the part number is only one digit off. Will this work in my boat??? If not.... anyone got a 98 sportster 1800 they want to part out?:drool5:

Nice of you to reply, but that is not what I asked:banghead:......... if you had bothered to try and order it or called to check availability you would find that it is discontinued:hurray: Thanks for trying though. Anyone else?

I think others here have been successful contacting the company who actually makes the cable for BRP. Maybe one of the regualrs will chime in.

I just ordered one for my speedster, riva told me there,s a shipping delay for the part but nothing about it being discontinued.

the challenger cable is to long. With it not bieing "plyable", theres no way to bend it around enough, for it to work.

With having 2 motors, you'll need the heavier cable. I'm willing to bet, since the "seat' configuration, is identical, in that of a, say 2000/2001 challenger (14ft), boat, i'm willing to put money on, that, that f/n/r cable would work.

Ordered a cable from a 98 Challenger, and everthing is identical to the old one, other than it is 4 inches shorter. Put it all together yesterday and it works great. If anyone is interested the part number is 204170045.
