I have a 1997 Sea Doo Xp with the 787 and am done riding it for the winter but it gave me a lot of problems this past summer and I want to get everything straighten out because this is the most fun I’ve had on a PWC ever. The issue I’m having is that one side of my ignition coil is giving me good spark and the other one not so much. The way I’ve confirmed this is when I was testing with the ski out of it will run on that one side of the coil but the other side it won’t. That one side of the coil will run no matter what cylinder is on so I’ve swapped it back and forth on each to cylinder to test to see if it was the compression or carburetor or something but it runs good on both sides. Compression is 140 psi in both so that’s not my concern. The other side of the coil won’t even allow the ski to run if it’s connect to either spark plug by itself. Ive swapped the plug wires on the ignition coil to see if they could be it and it wasn’t it stayed on that side of the coil. I read a forum that said that they replaced the stator and that solved their issue so I tried that and the issue persisted, I used a Oem used part for the stator that said it was in good working condition. I also replaced the ignition coil itself with a Oem used one but the same exact issue persisted. I previously replaced the voltage regulator in the ski because that was giving me issues and now that is not giving me issues anymore. I don’t know if running it with bad voltage regulator can ruin another part and make it do this so I thought I would say that. I have another Sea doo GTX with the 787 so if anyone has any ideas I can burrow parts off of that to try and figure stuff out but this problem has really stumped me. Thank you in advance for the responses!!
