Hi all,

I was out this weekend and it was quite windy and choppy. While I was parking the truck, the GTI got dinged up a bit on the bottom hull in two spots about 2" each (not too bad - no through the hull holes). Should I use a standard fiberglass repair kit or a gelcoat repair kit?

post up some pics, these things happen, if its not too bad, i wouldnt do anything till off season, cause it will happen again ....

If the fiberglass is exposed do not put it back in the water before you fix it as it soaks in water like a sponge. As long as it is sealed then don't worry about it till the off season.

Get that fixed before you put it back in the water. The more you wait the worse it will get assuming you ride it that way.

Thanks all for your input. There is a bit of fiberglass showing...

Ouchie! Yeah you don't want to be riding it like that, water will force it's way into the fibers seperating the layers of fiberglass resulting in even more damage... I've seen pics posted where the entire bottom of the hull had peeled off a SeaDoo, scalped it from mid-hull all the way to the stern!

So, your "off-season" starts... right now! I'd take that to a reputable shop and get it fixed proper, this isn't a mere scratch or scrape of the gelcoat it's damaged the fiberglass beneath. Sorry. :-(
