Hey all—
2008 GTI SE (130?).
Ran great but pretty sure my son’s friend tried
to vacuum the bottom of the lake. Found a rock stuck in the impeller, so who knows what else happened.
Now we’re getting an exhaust overheat. Not just a sensor, because the exhaust gets hot as hell and starts smoking. Thinking it may be clogged. So when I have a garden hose hooked up, water exits the jet pump but NOT the little side exhaust port (like it does on my 2003 GTX). I assume they’re plumbed similar and I should have some water coming out of that port? What’s the best way to determine what’s clogged (before I pull the whole thing apart).
I changed the antifreeze last year before putting it to bed, not sure if that could be a contributing factor. Filler it according to shop manual, no bubbles, etc.
Thanks!!
