‘08 GTI 130 exhaust overheat

Hey all—
2008 GTI SE (130?).
Ran great but pretty sure my son’s friend tried
to vacuum the bottom of the lake. Found a rock stuck in the impeller, so who knows what else happened.

Now we’re getting an exhaust overheat. Not just a sensor, because the exhaust gets hot as hell and starts smoking. Thinking it may be clogged. So when I have a garden hose hooked up, water exits the jet pump but NOT the little side exhaust port (like it does on my 2003 GTX). I assume they’re plumbed similar and I should have some water coming out of that port? What’s the best way to determine what’s clogged (before I pull the whole thing apart).

I changed the antifreeze last year before putting it to bed, not sure if that could be a contributing factor. Filler it according to shop manual, no bubbles, etc.

Thanks!!

No, comes from inside your pump. Hose is top right where the pump bolts to the hull looking on the inside just to the right of the 2 smaller ones in the middle for the bailer lines.
