Deciding to rebuild one engine myself but stuck on a few things.

1. Where the bearing sits in the lower case how would you resurface it(scotch brite)? Its not gouged or anything like that but want to clean it up for new crank.
2. I saw sbt vid and they uses black rtc sealant b/w the cases is that it?
3. When installing crank seal all you grease is the inside lip? bearings will get lube from RV bath or should seal be packed with some grease??
4. Would getting a used complete used RV gear for 50 bucks or spend the 80-90 bucks for a new wsm one??
5. Does the surface of rv on the engine cases need clean/or prep (scotch brite).

1) Yep... that would work
2) I use gray yama-bond... or threebond 1194.
3) Yes... grease the seals... or at least give them a good dose of 2-stroke oil. Don't want to melt the lip before the real oil/fuel get to them.
4) I'd go new. If there is any wear on the old gear (starting to get sharp) it will fail quick. Few extra $$$ will assure a good engine.
5) Not really. Just make sure there aren't any burrs in it. BUT... if the clearance is too high... you may want to have the case cut.
