Hey at least he's up front about it, some jokers will let you drive 2 hours before they mention "no title and jerry rigged trailer"
 
reminds me of this ugly story...
I had an older single trailer that came with a part-out, I sold to a guy that was picking up a GTX at the boat ramp, he asked me if it will hold a GTX and I said "sure" (I will never say that again). Turns out it was a 4tech GTX, and it also turns out the axle was really rusty near the hub, he pulls out of the ramp, made it about 12 feet when the axle snapped, he called me pretty pissed off and I felt terrible about it so I unloaded my trailer and drove to the ramp and it took about 6 of us to lift it up enough to slide the ski onto my trailer, gave him a $150 refund to get a replacement axle off the $250 sales price and apologized. Had to keep his GTX in my garage for a couple days while I waited for him to fix the axle.

Turned out to be a pretty nice guy once I came to the rescue, but I couldn't stand the idea of the poor dude sitting there at the boat ramp with a busted axle on a Sunday afternoon.

very fair of you, but of course knowing you in person, I always trust you'll do the right thing!
 
here's an LOL, just based on price... I value 96 wave ventures at about $700, the slowest, least maneuverable model that I think yamaha ever produced. Although I will admit, they will probably both be still running 5 years from now w/o anything being done other than gas/oil.

I think the 1100 came in the raider model, and the venture in 96 ? Huge improvement in top speed but still handled terribly, (awful sponsons) the only advantage the 700 had over the 1100 was fuel economy and reliability, otherwise it sucked.

Ventures had 700/1100
XL had 700/760/1200
GP had 800/1300

I never realize the ventures were so similar to the XL's until I had both on the trailer at the same time, the main issue I always had with the venture was that they were heavy and powered by a 700 so didn't move very fast and the sponson's they had on them were go awful, easily a 20' turn radius. (compared to 20" with my XP)

I think the ad is for the Yellow and white 1995 XP in the background and he is just a dumb ass.

The SP is awesome especially considering somebody installed the old "yellow" 580 in the newer hull.
 
There could actually be some truth to that number if he went nuts on it and had a shop build it. Usually skis like this are built by shops and then only sold or traded in the inner circle of the original builder and they actually do get those prices. But no way he's gonna get that on cl tho.
