I was fixing to load my 05 Sportster SCIC and after reversing off the dock I could not put it forward...Thought I was fixing to brake cable until I realized I had enough thrust to get me back on the trailer...Got it out of the water and noticed my gate was wedged in the ladder...Broke it free and noticed the gate support was totally cracked...

I also noticed a "support" bracket that was screwed in the top of the support gate...Is this from the factory or was this PO quick fix? I will try to get pics tomorrow..They are 185 bucks from the warehouse...Think a little JB Weld and securing the bracket back would work? Any suggestions? Thanks

No, you'll have to bite the bullet on it and replace it. I've learned over the years, you really can't fix this and trust the integrity of the repair. Because this is an important part of you controlling the boat, I'd replace it. I'm pretty sure if the JB weld held, it would not hold long....
