Clanking while idling

I have a 96 gtx and when just idling around somewhere in the drive there is a clanking kind noise. When you give throttle it goes away. Could this be wear ring or where the drive line connects to the engine?

make sure, while in water, that your rpm is reading 1500rpm...other than that, its impellor noise..no worries.

The rpms are good even did compression test and everything was good. Is it the wear ring?

They all clank when out of the water or at very low idle apparently (horrible noise I know) you can get a spring kit to stop it but most people don’t worry so I am told. Mine clanks as discribed and always has.
