I have the 4 cabin speaker outputs set to HP and the freq set at 80hz. The sub channel is LP and again is set at 80hz on the 12db setting. What are your settings??? I was only able to play the radio(local FM station) and the speakers sound good but I am not getting the bass response from the sub that I think I should. I need to plug my phone in and try that to see if it makes a difference. Also when I tunes the sub channel with the 50hz file I did not have the remote level control plugged in. Not sure if that matters or not?

i dont really remember what settings i have mine at. I think the speakers were at 100 and the sub at 80 and the towers at 120. I don't use a bass knob since i have the EQ, but that should just let you turn the level down once you have it running right.

Yeah I found that if I put the sub channel gain turned all the way up I have control over it with the remote level control. So that is how I left it for now. I will play with the freq settings later. Thanks for posting your set up.

Sgoyal if you pull straight up on the front port side vertical cushion you should get access to the back side of your dash. That is how I got to mine. There are several clips that hold the cushion inplace and 2 plastic darts on the top of the cushion where it "rolls" toward the windshield.

Very nice. now that ive sold the boat and upgraded to a 20' speedster ive got to plan a whole new audio system. Im trying to decide between the jl's or polk ultimate marine series. How you liking them?

I'm waiting for the picture Foster.

One more stupid idea, If you ever decide to go for 6.5 inch LED speaker rings.. ping me.. I'd give you better price than earmarks when you help me with my 2nd battery

Nice work RFoster with the new boat! I also looked hard at the Poly UM series. The thing that really drove me to the JL was the fact that they would fit in the factory holes with little trimming. The Polks I would have needed to use an adapter. I really like the sound of the system in the garage! It will be a few more months before I get to try it on the water!

The Speedster im getting has the factory speakers in it now, so ill need to see what size holw it is. I originally was leaning more towards the Polk UM, but i found the grey JL's on ebay for only a few bucks more. So i may go that route. Ill have it planned out in a couple weeks finally. My bigger decision this time is the head unit and amp. I really like the calrion stuff, so i may go that route on the head unit agaijn. The AMP i will probably go a different route. I chose the Alpine before because it was the only thing to fit in the space i had. this one has a bit mroe room to i can probably find something just as nice but cheaper.

That is what I did. I found them on ebay and amazon for not much more so I went JL. The holes are most likely going to be 6" - 6 1/4" stock. You can't go wrong with either that is for sure. What speedster did you get 430 or 510hp?

Its the 20' speedtser so its only the 310 HP. I couldnt pass it up for the price. My plan is to keep it 3-4 years and then move up again like i did with the 98. I hope to eventually have the 230 with the 510HP. I really wish you or cycleguy88 lived closer. Id love to check out your boats. His profile says he lives in TX, and thats where im getting the boat, so im hoping maybe i can check his out. i sent a message, see if he gets it.

cycleguy88 is very good with PM.. (My experience with him)

If you are in Northern Maine in July/August you are more than welcome to test drive it. I am still trying to get used to it. Hopefully this summer I will get some hours on it to see what it can really do. Currently has 14 hours on it mostly because I bought it the end of July so my boating time was limited

I'm done installing polk amp, exile speakers and LED speakers rings...
the best part of the speakers, it fits in the factory screw holes....
