carbon ring

after putting in a new impeller
and wear ring i still had cavatation
so i took out the carbon ring and layed it
on a sure fuss plate on top of 800 grit
to polish it up then did the same on the
metal ring----she works perfect

also i took a pece of oak 1 inch and cut a sling shot
out of it, she was about 12 inches long and the slot
was big enough to fit over the drive shaft
then I cut a pece 5 1/2'' long to go in between
that and the motor to push the carbon ring back

before doing any of this I took the pump off and used a porta power
inside the tunnel to hold the drive shaft forward--worked fantastic

its a stone plate that machinests use thats flat
and ive tried to post picks
