I bought a used 2001 Sportster LE, single 951 engine.
The drive shaft splines at the PTO end got stripped. When I took it apart there was no Bumper at the PTO end. So I looked up the parts and bought new bumpers and a new drive shaft and PTO.
The diagram shows there is a "Retaining Ring" on the PTO end with the Bumper. I haven't been able to find one. What is it's purpose and do I need it? I haven't been able to see how it's installed or even what it looks like.
