Breather vent leak.. Ever see this?

So l took a ton of pics of the new paint on my HX parts, and while cleaning them, I decided to start cleaning the hood on my spx as well.
So, I took the cover off, and I noticed this about a month ago too, but I thought it was just pungent cat piss so I wiped it up and thought nevermind, bc the stray cat likes to sleep in the footwell...
So anyway, there was this small puddle in the footwell again.. This time I gave it the sniff test and it was def gas..
There was also a wide faded drip stain and it was coming from under the hood latch.. So I open the hood, and I see it's coming from that little rubber grommet/vent..
It's not a lot, but I'm just curious as to why this is happening, and if anyone has seen this, and how do I remedy it.. The tank is almost full, and the fuel selector is currently OFF.. Why would this happen? Thanks!

Looks like your one way valve under the rub rail is plugged. It's supposed to release at like 2 psi or something

The vent under the hood is one way (In) the one under the rub rail is one way (out)
Mine was plugged as well, replaced it for a few bucks

Omg that's weird.. Is this what you're talking about, there's residue here.. And it's clogged?

Yes that is the (out) vent

I would just replace them both. They should be one way, fuel should not be able to flow out of the one up top

The tank is almost full.. So does that mean something is clogged in the Line?

Something is going on with your check valves. The one under the rub rail is supposed to release the pressure so this does not happen.

Sounds like liquid fuel is where it shouldn't be, for whatever reason? If not a plugged check valve then the "goes-inta here and comes outts there" hoses maybe connected in the wrong location?

Hmm. It's not a lot.. But should I be able to blow in one end and feel it coming out the other? And if so, which side should I blow from?

Yea well that line is FILLED with gas.. If it's just a vent, why is there gas in it? Ok so if there's FOUR lines total going to the baffle, and the other 3 go the fuel selector, and this last line goes from the baffle, then to a T then to each vent, SHOULD THERE BE GAS IN THAT LINE?

No. There should no be fuel in that line

Well the ski runs great, so maybe the reserve and vent lines are backwards? I literally just pulled that line off and got blasted in the face with gas

The other 3 go to the fuel selector valve, the fourth one from the baffle goes to the vent T. It's the one I'm pointing to, and it's GOT GAS IN IT

The baffle is labeled, On res ret and vent

Looks like you might have it on the reserve nipple. Can't tell for sure though

Oh ok great! Yea I never knew the baffle was labeled and I just redid all the lines one by one following the order of the PO, and since I thought that was just a vent with no gas, I didn't swap that one out especially bc all of those pain in the ass clamps. Yea it's gotta be the reserve bc the when I turned the gas on I rode that ski with no fuel issues

Yup, you were right! Wiped the grease away, and clear as day, RES

Phone rings yesterday, how much to label my jet ski lines so I can change them and not get 'em mixed up. ~Me "Seriously, it's already labeled for you on the baffle, same as your last ski was". Odd silence, him "So how much again?"

I need to call him and let him know the bill total's one shiny new blue Sharpie click top marker lol.

Lol that's funny! Yea there was some grease covering those words but now it's clear

That line can fill up if you over fill the tank up to the filler neck and if one of the check valves leak a bit.

My one way in was clogged open so it would allow fuel to drain out if I overfilled the tank.
