Best mods for a 720

Well as most of you know i got the 95 xp running with a replacment engine..I thought that i would love this thing because of the size but its just not poweful enough for me... My wifes GSX will outrun it with no problem and i dont like that...so my question is what kind of upgrades would make the 720 comparible to the 787 ..i know that from factory they are 25 hp difference so i dont think that it should be to hard to get 25 more hp out of a 720.. i would love to hear everyones mods and upgrades and pics would be great ...im very close to selling it to get a xp limited with the 787....but i have alot of time and money into this ski so i wuld like to keep it if possible
 
well.... i have heared that you can buy a pipe and gain 20 hp buty i dont know what pipe brand or if that is even true.... if i could find a buyer for mine i probubly would
 
i looked it up for the 720 and its around 800 bucks ...kinda thinking that the selling and buying a 96 xp is the way to go ...so the XP is for sale if anyone wants it
 
honestly, an engine upgrade is the best options for a 720, so you figured it out yourself lol
you really wanna pass her,,, ? get the 951 in it... scary machine !
 
wait what....you can get a 951 with my hull ...i thought about getting the 951 and electronics and throwing them in for fun
 
yes, you can !
i've seen the 951 in both the 93 xp and the 95xp and its awesome !
pulls your arm's out of socket, jumps 3 feet in the air from a dead stop,
it runs 68, and gets there in a flash, with high humidity and 0 elevation to boot.

then, when some kid show's up with daddy's rxpx and think's he's fast with that 13K machine, you can absolutely toast him from a dead stop... he pulls up frustrated so he say's, you can't beat me if we do a rolling start, so you tell him to get going about 30 and after he hits the gas, you'll run him down, he does, and you blow past him about 30 yards later and pull away !

and no.. i'm not making this up !!!

just pick up a 951 engine, reglass the hull, new electronics, some novi's, reroute the exhaust and 2 months from now your ready to go !

There you go Brock. 58 MPH bone stock! I guess I was never meant to get the pretty ones like that. I have that money in an ugly one in parts right now. And look at that trailer! Where is all the salt damage? Are you on your way over there yet?
 
going tomorrow at 530 to get it..... it still has the grey lines and hasent had the carbs cleaned in 2 years so you tell me what you think is wrong LOL
 
true, i actually forgot about that, it's funny, here in tampa, gulf is saltwater, and tons of jet skiis say they operate freshwater, although that may be true, I really do not believe most people trying to sell anything. First thing that you find is wrong, they say, oh that's news to me
 
i know there are lakes and stuff, but I just find that really hard to believe around here, esp on the coast
 
Brock, That looks like a deal, it's like the one I bought early summer, I paid $1600.00, but it had a premium SBT motor with 10hrs., and one year left on the warranty, the guy gave me the receipts the SeaDoo dealer in Johnson City, TN put it in charged him almost $2000.00 so I felt I got a good deal.

Be sure to get a compression reading on the motor, but I'm sure you know that. Might not be such a good deal if the motor is completely trashed.

I remember before I bought my 96XP I had considered a 95XP because I had no experience with a 787, and Doc Honda gave me a list of upgrades for a 720 where it would run with the bigger engine, a skat trac impeller and a performance intake grate was on the list, I can't remember what else.

BTW, I love my 96GSX, it's almost as much fun as the XP, just as fast, more stable, and it doesn't beat the crap out of you.

yeah i do have to sy the beating the crap out of you is true with the XP ...my brother and i went riding yesterday for 2 hrs nonstop he was on my GSX and i wrode the XP and i am so dang sore today .....the front of my calfs hurt like crazy and i dont even know why ..not to mention i kept bumping my knees getting on the dang thing....my shoulders are numb so i dont know yet if they are sore ...LOL
 
Sorry Brock, I just ran up there and bought it...didn't know you were interested in it.
After I have the carbs rebuilt, clean it up a bit I was going to flip it for $1600.

a tad high for 3 "unknowns" but might be interesting... all non running ski's ran last year :) but in theory if they all can get running right, its worth it... I like my ski's like my whiskey.. cheap !

and your right nammer about the "freshwater" ski's I see here in Florida I'm in ft myers...,, freshwater my azz !!!
the last freshwater one I saw had actual barnacles on the ride plate !

we do ride the peace river now and then if you get bored enough to head about 1.5 hours south :)
