Thanks guys for suggesting Puddingstone Lake, it has been awesome, what other lakes you guys recommend in Southern Cali that are cool?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Pyramid Lake and Castaic Lake off the 5 are OK. I used to live there and didn't get too excited about any of the local lakes. If you really want to go someplace nice, Shaver Lake outside of Fresno is Awesome!! If you like camping, it's up in the mountains and the campsites are pine forest and you're right on the lake.

I have been to Castaic, and it was a beautiful lake! Good fishing. Back then, a bunch of jetskis, but I think they kept them in one section of the lake.

When I would ride alone... I would always end up a Parris reservoir. Back in the day... there was no speed or noise restrictions (I almost never went to puddle-stone because of that) And it's big, with nice clean beaches to relax on.

One of the last places I lived was on the fullerton and Brea border. Puddle stone was 10mi up the 57 from me... but I would still go out to Perris.

Foster... you are right. I lived in SoCal for the first 27 years of my life. I hate living where the weather is unpredictable, and gets cold during the winter.

You guys are funny! Dr. Honda you referred puddle-stone, your right by that name its so small, but its great for testing out your motor and working out glitches! :)

Perris here I come!! lol...

By the way "I hate Cali, and "Weather Unpredictable".. funny!" Listen, I grew up in Queens New York City.... Believe me I know where you guys are coming from.... The only thing we have to worry about here is, the forest fires, and the earth quakes.. thats it.. lol...

Dont mean to rub it in, but its going to be 101 degrees this Sunday here in Southern California... nice huh?? lol...

It was 89 and sunny yesterday. So... But today is only supposed to get to 70. (crazy temp swings in PA)

Earth quakes are no big deal. I remember not even getting out of bed for most of them (like the wittier quake) The only time I jumped, and headed for a safe spot was the Landers quake. (that one was big)

OK You got me!
LOL

I keep saying Im going to Perris and all that good stuff, but I end up going to Puddlestone.... It is so close, plus there are a lot of emergency crews in the area, it makes me feel safe when I bring my kids (14 and 8 years old).

Plus I learned how to launch/retrieve my boat there with ease... In those other bigger lakes Im afraid that if something goes wrong there wont be anyone around to help us.. and if there is they are far away...

I live in AZ, good weather year round, though you need a wet suit in winter, and a friend with burn unit training in summer.
The only CA lake I have boated is Lake Havasu(May/10)...It's a never ending boaters party 24/7 boats in every size and shape they line up along the main channels that lead to the big lake day and night and create a giant boat show...It's nirvana if your into seeing and being around lots of trick boats, and the scantily clad young women ain't too shabby either ;-)
Stayed at London Bridge resort, you can book a room that includes a slip for your boat, that way you easily can be on /off / and back on the water anytime, great for an after dinner cruise up the channel under the stars...

Wow!! sounds great, I guess I am off to that one too!

Here is a video of me and my kids and my girlfriend at Lake Puddingstone yesterday:

I reached 35.2 mph on my GPS on my new rebuilt engine with all of us onboard plus my anchor, I guess maybe I can reach 40mph with just me and my girlfriend on my boat...

It was awesome!

Cool video, here's a link for Havasu, giving you an idea of the boating atmosphere...I suspect this pic was taken at spring break when the place is jammed, I was there in May right after s/break, tons of cool boats, restaurants and bars you can drive your boat to, and plenty of room to enjoy skiing and tubing..

cheappc.....I believe two strokes can go almost anywhere until 2012 (EPA ruling) After that, I think two strokes are still permitted in certain areas so long as they meet 2012 EPA emission requirements, but for now I think you are fine and legal.

I was just there in May, and saw plenty of 2 stroke jet-skis all over the place, so I conclude by that that you would be fine.
Lake Havasu city (the resort and launch, is in AZ, the other side of the lake is in California waters, you will see police from both states patrolling the waters, they are used to people being there to party, so you can enjoy yourself, but, like most places, you must remain responsible and in control of your vessel....If you don't get stupid you will be just fine.

If you go, make sure you take a few hours and drop anchor in "Copper Canyon",... it's an infamous place known for packing lots of boats all rafting together, creating a a boat hopping party barge, loud music, naked girls and guys climbing up and diving off this jagged rock cliff(which the park authority has installed a 1-1/2 diameter rope pull up the side of the cliff so they don't fall while climbing)...you can hang there, absorb the atmosphere, meet some folks, maybe down a couple of beers all while watching crazies shed their clothes, climb a granite cliff, look down to the cheering crowd, who likes to rate the dives on a 1-10 scale...then do their dives..Even for an old guy like me, this place was very cool, On the way back from Copper Canyon, slide your boat onto the white sands shore outside the Naked Turtle Restaurant, for some burgers and brew...lots of boats, fun and action everywhere you look. In the evening we took the boat up and down the main channel, idle speed, music playing, cruising beneath The London Bridge was cool..seeing hundreds of really nice boats all nosed into the sand along the shore under the stars, like some nocturnal boat show party (with loud music playing from everywhere) was even cooler....You may not get the best nights sleep in this town, it's one giant party...but you will have a blast, (and you can always get caught up on sleeping when you get home)...Let me know if your planning a trip, I am ready to go again, the friends we took along want to make this an anual trip instead of the Lake Powell House boat thing..who knows...just might see you there. Take care, John

Wow, they are totally going out of their way this time..

Check this out, I guess somebody complained that they were told that they needed to "buy" a new boat, plus the California Government probably didnt want to lose "any more money" on people not going on the lakes, I guess they figured that if 2 strokes were banned, no money for them!

plus thank you everyone for your suggestions!!
