Is there a way to test the over heating beeper on a old sea doo? It doesn't beep when I start it or anything like the newer ones. Any secret trick someone knows? I've got a 1992 and a 1994 if that helps.
good question! i've already "roasted" a piston/cyl because of 'no beep' and my impatient, "ignorant" ass...lack of knowledge about these delicate, addicting "woman-like" machines...have learned SO much here over the past month or so, and with some invaluable advice from the really well-educated peeps around here regading these "moody" machines, that have to be taken care pf like a "beautiful woman"..pamperd and handled with "loving care".

That's very well put. I said the first time I rode a SeaDoo,I said "it's almost better than sex", at my age now it is better than sex. We all love our ski's and that's why. hmmm....
Back to the thread, if you remove the beeper rap it lightly with a screw driver it will usually start working again. If it doesn't take it to Radio Shack, they have the same thing a lot cheaper.
Ive been through 3 warning buzzers on my XP's in the last year. Total junk. I always make sure I keep an eye on the pisser to the left so I know if theres still cooling the motor. If that ever stops peeing, check it ASAP.
ok forgive my ignorance, but I have a 95 Seadoo SP that doesn't beep at anytime. When is it supposed to beep? It did beep (1 short and 1 long beep) when I pressed the start button 5 times. But that is the only time in 2 years I have heard it beep. Does it make a difference that we have the non DESS ignition system?
older skis that are non DESS don't beep unless they are overheating, or other major failures. you can check the beeper by taking the wire off the temp sensor in the center on head and touch it to ground, you should hear it beep.
