1997 GTS what to look for? URGENT

Looking at a 1997 Sea-Doo GTS with the 717 engine.
Seller says it ran great last season. I’m going to check it out soon — anything specific I should be looking for with these models? Common issues or things to watch out for? Appreciate any advice!

1. Compression test
2. Check for old fuel lines
3. Check oil lines (has existing oil injection)

What else do I absolutely need to look for?

If you’re buying it as a running machine, then insist on a water test. Ticket for a one minute drive with the seat off to look for leaks. Take it for a 10 minute test drive and when you get close to the dog, shut it off and then restart it to see how it starts when it’s warm in the water. Like you mentioned do a compression test. Take a multimeter with you and see if the machine is charging the battery, I just went to look at a machine. I took 1 inch of gas oil mix in the water bottle with me so that I could put a little bit down the plug holes if it didn’t start to see if it would start on that. If you’re buying it non-running it’s great if it’ll at least crank over, that means that the electrical is working for the most part.
