Has anyone tried to substitute a regular car size battery instead of the regular ones? Just wondering cause of price. I know space is the biggest issue.

Never heard of it tried in a PWC. Do you want to do this in a boat or PWC? Seems like I can remember a thread about how to do it in a boat.

I don't think I would recommend it for a PWC if for no other reason the added weight.

It would work... but it's big and heavy. Also, there is no real vent... so you would spill acid in the hull. And finally, The effort needed to make up a mount that would pass an inspection by your local Coast guard/park ranger, would make it not worth the time.

Reason why I ask is I was looking at an odyssey pc625. It's $20 short of a optima red top. So no battery acid there. I can mount it any way it needs to be mounted. I am looking at that because once the the doo is up and going I will be fabbing a stereo in it.

there is a company that makes waterproof amps and speakers...I'm forgetting the name.

I would find it and check it out....with the digital amps these days you prob dont need that kind of battery power. If you do I would just put it in the front and use it just for the stereo.

My problem is I am audio junkie. I will be using a digital amp with 5 1/4" separates fiberglassed into the lid. Then I am still looking into where I can put the 8" sub:D

OK... in that case... Yes... it will work.
