anyone with a 2000 le sportster 941 cc single engine

told our problem is a skidoo feature pls advise if anyone with one of these does the same thing;
while in forward position and just at idle when the steering wheel is turned just a touch the
boat Accelerates! this cannot be a feature could it? we have a heck of a time getting on
lift with any wave condition

I’m not aware of any system that would add throttle in low speed steering situations on that boat, but I’m honestly not an expert on that particular model, so it’s possible that they did something to increase maneuverability of the boat while at idle...

My 2004 Speedster does it. It is a feature to aid in low speed maneuvering. It kind of surprises you when it's not expected.

I thought that might be the case, but haven’t actually been in one of the later model boats.

It's called off-power steering assist. Gives you an extra bump of power when the steering wheel is turned hard over in either direction. Completely normal.
