Anyone know are impeller and shaft a balanced unit??

Talked to a marine mechanic and small engine guy that worked on Polaris skis today. Told them about my vibration/ noise issue. Apparently Polaris skis would do the same thing when the pump and drive shaft were out of phase... I didn't see any match marks when I rebuilt it...any ideas anyone? I'm looking at buying a new impeller and wear ring to try, maybe impeller is bent?

I do not believe this is the case. I agree that they are balanced, but they are balanced to themselves. Which means that the impeller can be in any placement on the shaft.

That said, if there is an unbalance issue on the impeller as well as the shaft or the shaft is bent and the unbalanced parts happen to mate up, the vibration would be exaggerated. You could pull the impeller and rotate it 180 degrees to see if this changes things.

That's a great idea thanks! I just called the dealer and apparently they are dieing for work this week! Hopefully they can get me in Tuesday! I noticed this issue right after I rebuilt the pump, had to use aluminum housing off 2008 S/C wake as my plastic one warped. Common issue that brp knew about but won't recall. So not sure if the different housing is partly to fault too. Maybe I can rotate the drive shaft when I pull the pump and dial indicate it.

The pump system DOES make noise when running and not in the water. The impeller should NOT wobble let to right if you will. If it does, something is wrong and it WILL cause a out of balance issue, a vibration, and wear the wear ring almost instantly.

So,, you will need to figure that issue out and it will likely solve your vibration concern as well.

Could be a bearing or something not assembled properly.

Yes an impeller with any sort of play will definitely shake you pretty good and destroy a wear ring in seconds. Now you need to find out if the play is due to the impeller or due to the drive shaft. I would guess that if you ran that impeller in a warped plastic housing it may be damaged.

What ski do you have?...you list an '05 wake....didn't come with a plastic pump. same prop as before? Any probs before? Count the splines on shaft and prop.

Yep 05 wake 155. Original impeller and shafts. No vibs before the last rebuild. And yes I still have the warped plastic housing sitting on the shelf somewhere.
I just pulled the pump. Traces of water around o rings when I pulled the cone off the back. Grease clean with dark coloration around rotating area of bearing. Front cone seal leaked around shaft at the spline. Water in around the spline and impeller threads. Impeller had a few nicks from rocks but the wear ring clearance is still .010". No gouges or anything crazy. Then I did a radial check... .005" maybe a bit more. And a clunk... Then another clunk when I turn it after I do the check... Soo this pump is getting a full rebuild! I dial indicated the drive shaft last night, unit all assembled I got .0015" so it's not bent.
Going to the dealer tmrw to see about parts and hopefully talk to someone about why this happened after only 50hrs! I really hope this will fix my noise and vibration cause I'm gonna be broke after buying parts!
