Any good experiences out there??

All I hear is about all the problems. How about the people that have pretty much had a trouble free ski. If there is such a thing....

first... the reason you only hear about problems is because this is a forum to help others.... but.........


I have a 1990 SeaDoo Si. Runs like a champ, and it always runs. There has to be over 600 hrs on the engine.

The big thing is to fix things before they break, keep good oil and fuel in it, properly winterize it, and do all the maintenance on time.

I have a 2005 GTX and the only problem I ever has was a bad steering cable. And that was due to a poor engineering design by Seadoo I do believe.

I'm a new owner and the biggest issue I've found is lack of proper maintenance. We ride these things hard and that's gonna work the hell out of the engine, if not always taken care of machines are going to break down.

Hopefully after I finish my top end rebuild I won't have any more extreme issues

MY Thanks to two guys on their Blasters, who jumped in the pounding surf out in
the mean chop at Bunces, to right my busted ski (all mounts broke) after I got
splattered. Bullethead Ted & Bruiser Bob, from Sarasota, Florida.

I got pulled in by a girl....BUT HEY.....It pays to have Buddies! Saved my A$$ & Ski!

My 92 GTX, bought it new in 93, never had a problem and it has been used 7 days a month from April to October.

I have had my GSX for 2 years now bought it with 55 original hours has always ran great, only thing I had to do was change out the tempo fuel lines and redo the carbs, other than that the thing has run like a champ. I find if you run these machines regularly and keep up with normal maintenance they will last a lot longer.

Hell yea , Rode the hell out of my 1990 GT for three years in Salt Water In Key West so there is really no down time part of the year. Motor mounts were the only thing I had to replace. That was from Jumping wake really big wake so I knock that up to might faught. Had hundreads of hours on that ski if not into the thousands. Never a problem. Now the joy of having a new ski and teaching my 14 year old son to ride is a hell of a joy. Here is the important thing I think, I spend as much time teaching my son to clean and maintain our ski as I do teaching him to ride. I hope my current ski treats me as well as my last.:hurray:

Took the family out all day today...With no problems, except my glue job on my front storage bin did not hold together....time to start searching for a new bin. I just cant get enough riding this thing LOL!!!

Same here,

I have 2005 RXP's and they have put up with all my pushing. All of the minor hitches I've had are of my own creation and mostly not associated with the motors or supercharger. The key is certainly good upkeep (as per Dr. Honda)

besides goin thru the carbs, raves and replace the fuel lines, i've beat the shiat outta it, until the starter went this past Saturday.

I had bad fuel that left me stranded in the bay beginning of last year, since then, no real problems. Just little stuff that bugs me. I routinely take it on hour+ long trips to my friends' shorehouses.

Little stuff - seaweed, gas gauge not working, rpm randomly drops 200 on long rides then settles in fine, and sometimes a bit of hesitation around 4k rpm. But I can get on it and go anywhere I please and it hasn't left me stranded by any fault of its own yet.
