2003 Seadoo GTX Di Fuel Module blockage

I need some expert opinion. I have had some fuel pressure problems and then I had no fuel pressure all at once. I bought a new fuel pump but had the same problem. I took it all out and blew air through both ports and both blocked. I then took the metal line connector apart as in the attached photos and there was a tiny black rubber thing in the hole now after taking it out everything flows perfect. My question is this supposed to be there as it fits so perfect I have no idea how it got in there.

I hate to comment as I'm certainly no expert but the part in question I believe is the fuel pressure regulator and the parts you refer to are internal components. I have run RFIs with bad regulators but I'm not sure what will happen on the DI. It likely will not hold back pressure like a check valve. Give it a try and measure the pressure on the fuel pump side (27psi).

Its not a fuel regulator as that would be on the fuel rail. This is on top of the fuel module that is in the fuel tank. To me at the time it looked like it belonged there but I ended up taking the black rubber piece out and all runs great. All I can figure is it must have came out of the fuel pump it self and the fuel pump has three filters before going in. Some how it perfectly went into the hole and blocked it up. Something for people to look out for.
