Anchoring a Seadoo?

Is there anything I shouldn't do when anchoring my jet ski. We have a big music festival here called RiverBend and they have main stage on the river. They don't charge for boats.
 
Its in the narrow of the river in Chattanooga downtown so very little chop unless it gets stormy takes alot to make it really rough there. Its funny you say tie the rope. I do SRT for you coast gaurd and military on here may know what that is but it means "single rope technique" I seen a guy reppel down a line that was not tied off it was stomped into the mud at the top of the reppel. Talk about make your but pucker up and mouth shut up.
 
It is VERY hard to beat a Danforth anchor for all around use. The Cooper anchor is also great. If the bottom is soil, mud, dirt or loose gravel, both that I mentioned will do well.
 
at a lake i use 2 mushroom anchors one on the bow and one at the Stearn to keep it from drifting to close to shore and Never beach it. I'm anal and don't want the bottom getting scratched up.

Yeah I like those as well, but where Jim is going to be anchoring, (river) I am not sure those will hold if the dam up river decides to generate power. The current can get up a bit. Thoughts?
 
Hey Jim I do a lot with rope myself being in the tree service business.

Jesse my business partner is a retired C-130 loadmaster. Great guy too, I just saw that in your sig.

Sorry for the side track. On the anchor idea I would try one with the fold out fingers and try to get it to grab something. That's if you can't find somebodys boat to tie off to.

Thanks Matt for the C-130 plug. My Son is actually the Loadmaster. He is stationed at Dobbins about an 1 1/2 hours from me. Just so darn proud of Him.
Sorry for getting off track, but it is hard to not brag about Him. :)

Jim, I would go with a fold out just to be safe.
 
Probably going to buy a cooper a smaller one around 4 # . We have a lot of cables and piping across the river floor so I worry.
 
I've settled on danforth anchors as well, and have lost a few to snagging something on the bottom depending on where we are (pipes, cables, boulders, etc.?). I tie the stern off to a corkscrew dog tie-out.

Occasionally I forget to tie off the anchor line prior to tossing anchor so I keep a floating fender attached to the line. With a ski perhaps, you don't have space for carrying all this misc. gear.
 
You can unsnag a danforth anchor pretty easily. Will give details a bit later.

Thats so Funny, Need that I crushed my phone yesterday my new Samsung S3 I use strait talk for my company to save money but when you loose or extremly damage your phone like that you pay full price for the next one. We get the phones thru waalmart so they insure them for the other lesser problems. So today I get an upgrade Im going to the Samsung Note 2. 300.00 dollars ouch.
