Nice spot Matt, the manifold came off of a 98 spx that had the head pipe jetted that fitting was changed out last night as well. As for the lines we hook up all lines before the motor is mounted. It makes things so much easier. We hook up the ground, oil pump cable and we even hook up the oil line to the pump with a new filter.

Awesome I figured you had it covered. What's up with this sexy purple now? Just an example I guess. Looks nice though

That is my fiances 96 xp motor. We leaned out the rear piston on 4th of July. She wanted a pink motor but the pink engine enamel was on back order so she picked out this anodized purple.

We went through the carbs today. The pto carb screws were way off. The low was at 3 full turns out and the High was 1 1/2 turns out. The mag was at low 2 turns out and the Hi was 2 turns out. We put the lows back to 1 1/2 out and the Highs at 0.

We also found this hilbilly fix. This is a first for me

Besides those issues they look pretty clean. The pop off was set to 38.

New gaskets went on

Well she is up and running but as soon as we start it, it just runs away. We know we have an air leak just have to track it down.

Are you sure the throttle isn't adjusted too high? Same thing happened on my 96xp, It seemed like a runaway then adjusted the carbs and it went away

Rj also painted his single gauge hood for his 96 xp. All it needs now is clear.

That was the first thing we checked. We were hoping that was all it was. Unfortunatly it was not that. It may be the gaskets though. They may not be seated correctly. It got dark and we were on the side of the house not at the shop so it will have to wait until tomorrow. Plus the neighbors probably did not like the noise at 10pm.

Can you even breath in that shed, she's busting at the seams! I see a quad, a sled, mower, blower, and a crotch rocket. And that is just what I can make out.

Did he rattle can that hood? (I see that in the background too) It looks good.

Lol that garage is filled to the max. There is a banshee, yfz450, suzuki 400, gsxr 750, and a skidoo in there. As for the hood the black was painted previously with a hvlp gun. The silver is from a rattle can. We went to the automotive paint supply store and had some colors put into cans and also got some clear in rattle cans. It was about $15 per can but you are getting qualty paint. Plus you can get smaller quantities.

Cool, My local body supply does the rattle cans too. I never inquired though.

It is going to be a shame to split these up.

My seat is splitting more and more so it is time to try wrapping a hump seat. We have 3 set aside right now so I am going to wrap one in black and give it a yellow stencil. That will be for the 97 spx we have. If it looks good than I will do the 99 too

This has nothing to do with the 99 but This was my very 1st seadoo. This is what got me into changing out color schemes and restoring seadoo's.

I have seen this seadoo for sale every year since I sold it.

I bought decals from pwcgraphics, wrapped the seat black, bought all the black trim from a 96xp(grab bar, vents, bump rails) installed it. Hydroturf mats, Hytroturf handle bar cover and lots of buffing.

Found our air leak:hurray:

Check out the butterfly for the throttle

I do not think it was suppose to be at 90 degrees lol. It is now up and running fine. I am shocked we didn't notice it when we did a pop off test on them. I wonder how it got bent that badly?

Oh and this summer I will probably be selling the 99 I just restored for $3000 firm. I am going to be restoring another seadoo for personal use, so when that is done It will be for sale

98 spx or a 96/97 gsx. Not sure yet, I have my 96 xp so I will always have a x4. This resto was always intended to be for sale but then I was having a hard time letting it go.
