Hey guys. I finally have all the funds together and now i am trying to decide on a boat. I have found 2 so far like the title states, but not sure which one I should go for. I have not seen either of these boats personally just found them by searching. The sk model is fairly close to my hometown so I won't have to travel 1500km to the other one I am looking at but i seen that the SK has that front cover and no seat does that remove at all, does anyone have a picture of that or what kind of storage underneath??

Also I have not owned a seadoo product before, so I was wondering could the impeller suck up weeds or something causing problems? I am from Northern Ontario and there are a lot of lakes here with tons of weeds. I have always wanted a seadoo boat just hope I am making the right choice here.

Thanks for your help.

I have the SK model, and I like it. Lots of storage space under the front compartment. You could probably remove the door over the compartment but I am not sure how you would go about adding seating. Extra seats in the front would be nice but it works for me. How many people would you be carrying? I will check for pics but I dont think I have any of the storage.

Yes they can pick up weeds. They have a weedless gate that helps to flush them out if you get any, but you are best to stay out of the weeds if you can.

98 Speedster gots the front seat, so a 5 seater it is, with 2-110hp engines. The SK, has 2-85hp engines.

Yup, the vacuum created from the pumps will definetly pull debris in/thru the pump assy...

so would i have to be worried about pulling up on the beach as well?? Also just found a 01 speedster v6 merc efi. How would this be? I hear that the merc. can be expensive to fix.

Again thanks for the help

If you're concerned about fuel economy, you should go with the SK model. If you're not, you should go with the twin 787.

according to shop manual, twin 787 uses 24gallons an hour Full throttle and twin 717 uses 17.

But they are real fun boat. I have the twin 787 and it's VERY fast. you're at 50mph in seconds. Top speeds is about 55-60 depending on conditions. The biggest concern about those boats is that they really loves fuel when you beat them but, no money no candy.

I wouldn't buy the Merc V6. They are reliable engines, but there's always the "if" you blow it up. you can change both engines 4 times in the rotax powered ones for 1 engine in the merc. I think the merc would be more encomical to run but I don't think it'd be as fast as the twin 787. Rotax engines are also very quiet compared to a sportjet.

Went and bought a 97 challenger 1800

thanks again guys....i just went in a different direction now and put a downpayment on a 97 challenger 1800. Is there anything specific I should know about this boat? I have done a lot of searching on the speedsters but not a whole lot on the challenger.
