97 XP reset MPEM method?

Does the press start button five times method work on 1997 XP for diagnostic?

I still have 2 beeps but when i turn engine over no fire to plugs...

I swapped mpems with my other ski, but i'm hoping maybe if i put the other one back in my other ski and try to reset it, it may work if i'm lucky.

The ski ran fine, parked it in a cove to swim, and never fired back up.

yes. Press it 5 times with your lanyard off the post. (not connected)

But... if you are getting 2 beeps when you connect the lanyard... then the MPEM thinks everything is OK

Since you have an 97 XP... I'm going to bet that the trigger coil has broken off it's mount. You will have to take off the Mag cover, and you will see it.

did the ski work, when you swapped mpems? if so, then it aint the trigger assy.
