97 SPX 787 off idle hesitation/stumble

does it feel like its misfiring or does it just sound that way? the 787 has a lot of variation in its exhaust note with the waterbox rave controlled water injection and the raves themselves. if you're riding around 3-4k rpm, the exhaust is a kind of mmmmmmmmdmmmmdmmdmdmmmdmdmdmmmmm if you can sound that out, lol. but if you're getting an actual missfire then you'd feel the engine dropping off at that time as well.

Went to the lake yesterday and completed the break in, the low end bog is gone, throttle response is crisp and it wont die going from 0-100% pretty quick, however if I am anywhere between 10-25% throttle it kinda sounds like its misfiring, anything over or under the 10-25% it goes away and runs great, pop off is 28-29 psi, adjusting the carbs LSA in or out 1/4 turn does nothing, adding primer gas does nothing (it will bog down after about 2 squirts), is this something the 787 just does down low or you think raising the pop off will cure it? Rave valve red caps are 1 turn in from the top...

I can def hear it, just like you said around 3-4k rpm, mmmmbammba ba mmmmmba ba mmmmmba. Can somewhat feel it in the engine too but the rpms never drop off nor does it ever act like its going to die, open the throttle a tad more and the raves open and it screams. Also the ski will start up INSTANTLY when cold, no primer needed but once warm it takes a good 2-3 seconds to fire up, just thought I would add that info.

That's the stumble I was talking about before. Some 2 strokes will have that... "need to clear out" feel. My XP does it bad until it's warm... but then it still has that "2-stroke dirt bike" feel.

The extra oil isn't helping. Once you get some clean fuel in it... you may be able to tweak the RAVES to help clear it up. BUT... just open the throttle, and don't worry.

FYI... I run my RAVEs full tight.
